It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Margaret Mary Parenteau of Chicopee, Massachusetts, born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Michael Seward and Margaret "Peggy" Cronin; her son Kenny Parenteau; and her siblings, Jack Seward, Barbara Pienkowski and Patricia Brill.

She is survived by : her husband Jean-Paul "John" Parenteau; her children, Annmarie Parenteau, Spfld, Steve Parenteau (Laura) of S. Hadley, Debbie Karetka (James) of Southwick, Brian Parenteau (Jane) of Hooksett, NH, Gregg Parenteau of Chicopee and Marybeth Stratton (Justin) of Chicopee; her daughter-in-law Dina Parenteau of Chicopee; and her sisters, Jane Fournier and Judy Pratt. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren and also leaves 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home (2049 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA 01040). A procession was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (1945 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA 01040). Viewing was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Calvary Cemetery.
