He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl W. Vaughn and Matilda Vaughn (Zabarac); his children, Michael R. Vaughn and Patricia M. "Trish" Vaughn; his former wife Polly Vaughn (Rooney); his sister Shirley Evarsgard; and his sister-in-law Mary V. Vaughn (Staples).

He is survived by: his siblings, Roy Vaughn of Chicopee and Earlene Fisher (Merle) of Taylorville, IL; his nephew Alan R. Vaughn (Laureen Blakeslee) of Chicopee; his niece Amy S. Moore (Daniel Webster) of Springfield; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Natasha Vaughn Holdridge (Kevin), Nala Thebeau, James Vaughn (Emily), Angel Orengo (Nicole), Daniel Moore (Noah) and Kiara Moore (Harrison); Mila Thebeau. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
