With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Esther Bennett of Chicopee, Massachusetts, born in Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 28, 2026 at the age of 101. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ruth Esther Bennett to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Leo V. Bennett, Jr.; her parents, David J. Towner and Helen E. Towner (Dawson); her son David; and her sister Helena J. MacKinnon.
She is survived by: her children, Henry J. Bennett (Ann) of Cleveland, TN, C. Lee Bennett (Ronald Minor) of Westfield and Melissa E. Bennett (Scott Lafond) of Chicopee; her sister Lillian F. Leary of Plymouth, MA; and her grandchildren, Henry J. Bennett, Jr., David M. Bennett, Vincent P. Bennett, Emily H. Crane (Bennett) and Abigail Lafond. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Brunelle Funeral Home (811 Chicopee St, Chicopee, MA 01013). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Rose de Lima Church (600 Grattan St, Chicopee, MA 01020).
