We announce the death of Susan Papineau of Chicopee, Massachusetts, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 82. Susan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard F. Papineau and Jeannette T. Papineau (Yorgeau); and her brother Robert Papineau. She is survived by: her close friend William "Bill" Philbrick of Chicopee; her sister Marguerite Papineau of Tucson, AZ; her children, Alan Schirch (Jane) of Londonderry, NH and Nancy Keyes (Paul) of Agawam; her grandsons, Stephen Schirch (Kathy Niu) and Mitchell Schirch (Emma Lederer); her great grandchild Rheia Schirch; her nephews, Michael Papineau and Jeffery Papineau; and her niece Krys Hundley.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Messier Funeral Home (1944 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA 01040). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (1945 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA 01040).
