He was predeceased by: his wife Theresa M. Tierney (Nosek); his son Brian P. Tierney; his brother Michael "Slip" Tierney; and his parents, Edmund Tierney and Pauline Tierney (Coyne).
He is survived by: his son Edward C. Tierney, Jr. (Liza) of Clinton; and his grandson Weston Tierney. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
