She was predeceased by: her husband Robert J. Canavan; and her daughter Patricia Canavan. She is survived by: her daughter Kathleen Canavan (Brian Harrington); her grandchildren, Alison Harrington (Julian Morris), Patrick Harrington, Devon Harrington and Brenna Harrington (Scott Witte); her great grandchildren, Max and Rhys; and her pets, Dune, Pepper and Joey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home (176 Water St, Clinton, MA 01510). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the West Cemetery (64 Green Rd, Bolton, MA 01740).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in the name of Joan Canavan to the Marlborough Public Library Foundation, 35 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
