He was predeceased by: his parents, Friedrich Gerlach and Bertha Gerlach (Steinau); his wife Nancy (Sheridan); and his siblings, Elle Bingel, Herta Voight, Helga Schäfer, Edith Gerlach and Kurt Gerlach.
He is survived by: his cousins, Erna, Ruthie and Ralph; his children, Karin Patenaude (Brian) of Rutland, MA, William Gerlach of Dallas, TX and Heidi Grady (Tim) of Sterling, MA; his grandchildren, Dylan, Luke, Kendall Grady, Kyle and Brenna Patenaude; and his brother Ortwin Gerlach (Eleonore) of Mengerskirchen, Germany.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross, an organization that reunited Willi with his father and older brother after World War II, a service organization he deeply admired and never forgot.
