Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved James Frederick Marten of Cohasset, Massachusetts, who passed away at the age of 93, on June 1, 2025. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He is survived by: his children, Lewis H. Marten and Kay S. Marten; his children-in-law, Lucinda Linde and Ronald Nunn; and his grandchildren, Ian A. Marten, Ryan L. Marten, Dylan M. Nunn and Alana M. Nunn. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Dr. Marten was on the board of trustees of Boston University Hospital, the Boston Chamber of Music Society and its Foundation, and the Cohasset Conservation Commission.
