He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Poirier and Diana Poirier; Audrey. He is survived by: his children, Mark Poirier (Clare), Suzanne Long (Robert), Christopher Poirier (Leslie), David Brazda Poirier (Margit) and Brian Poirier (Nancy); his grandchildren, Kendal Poirier, Stephanie Long, Jennifer Tracy (Tyler), Andrew Long, Christopher Long (Kate), Matthew Long, Brett Poirier (Tara), Justin Poirier (Jade), Trevor Poirier, Marcel Brazda Poirier, Jack Poirier and Ben Poirier; his great grandchildren, Russell Tracy, Reid Tracy and Everleigh Poirier; his stepgrandchildren, Natalie, Eric and Sally Beane; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Mason, Sydney, Phoebe, Stella Reynolds and Nora McDonald; and his siblings-in-law, Walt, Gloria Buotte, Elizabeth, Lillian and Orella Poirier. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
