He was predeceased by: his parents, Levon Avigian and Jouhar Avigian (Markarian); and his brother John Avigian (Bertha). He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Avigian (Murtaugh); his children, Judith Crosbie (Michael) of Salem, Jeanine Beard of Cathedral City, CA, Richard Avigian (Brenda) of Beverly, Stephen Avigian of San Francisco and Jeffrey Avigian of Salem; his grandchildren, Adam Crosbie, Corey Crosbie (Michelle), Justin Crosbie, Alexa Beard, Matthew Avigian, Katie Wiberg (Dylan), Patrick Avigian, Kate Avigian and Aidan Klingelhoffer; his great grandchildren, Chase Crosbie, Violet Crosbie and Dax Wiberg; and his brother Michael Avigian (Dorothy) of Peabody. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
