James Malone Sr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Malone Sr. of Danvers, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 28, 2020 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his brother George; his significant other Rosemary Sheehy of Lawrence, Mass.; his children, Jim, Jr. (Mary Velthuis) of Rockville, Tracy Malone (Jonathan Gaffney) of Arlington, Thomas Malone of Arlington, Mass., George Malone of Edgecomb and Christopher (Ronda) of Danvers, Mass.; and his grandchildren, Casey, Heather, Andrew, Whitley, Kelly, Coury, Abigail and Matthew.

“To me, your Dad and Grandfather was one of the finest human beings I ever met at Medford High School. When I was a student at M.H.S, Jim was already a veteran faculty member, but it wasn't until I returned as a teacher that I really got to know him as a person. We taught in different departments, but we occasionally bumped into one another and those moments to me were heartening. The topics varied, but the message from Jim was always genuine and enlightening. Moments I have never forgotten”
