She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Bernazzani (Joe) and Ann Bernazzani (Santoianni). She is survived by: her son Jonathan; her brothers, Louis Bernazzani Jr. (Maria) of Danvers and Richard Bernazzani (Carol) of Peabody; and her siblings' children, Chris Rendon of Albuquerque, Elizabeth Bernazzani of Danvers, Linda Elliott (Robert) of Brighton, Julie Finley (Andrew) of East Boston and Michael Bernazzani of Peabody.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Karen's name to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215 or to http://www.joslin.org.
