He is survived by: his children, Heather Coates-Krawitz (Matthew Krawitz) and Ryan Coates (Alison Coates); his grandchildren, Margaret Krawitz, Sam Krawitz, Seth Coates and Carly Coates; and his sister Shirley Coates Hartshorn.
