We announce the death of Jean E. Ratner of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, who passed away on September 17, 2026. Jean E. will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Richard R. Ratner, Jr.; her parents, Alonzo V. Jr. and Edith Jason (Newman); and her sisters, Judith Reed and Joyce Wood.
She is survived by: her children, Chevelle Kelly (Donald), Kimberly Casmira (Robert), Richard Ratner III of Dartmouth and Ryan Ratner of Dartmouth; her siblings, Jacqueline Tripp of Dartmouth and Alonzo V. Jason III of Dartmouth; her grandchildren, Megan Sylvia, Drew Kelly, Gaven Casmira, Koryn Casmira and Sophie Ratner; and her great grandchildren, Daniel Kelly and Henry Sylvia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Potter Funeral Home (61 Tarkiln Hill Rd, New Bedford, MA 02745). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Evergreen Cemetery.
