He was predeceased by: his wife Olivia "Olive" Martins (Dias Rego); and his parents, Jose Viveiros Fonseca and Maria Jose Fonseca. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Victoria and Travis; Honorina "Nina" Furtado of Lisbon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
