He was predeceased by: his wife Flora Sylvia (Moniz); his parents, Joseph A. Sylvia and Mary Louise Sylvia (Albertine); and his daughter Belinda Botelho. He is survived by: his niece Ann Landry; his sisters, Theresa Pereira and Sandra Nelson; and his children, Joseph "JoJo" Sylvia (Cheryl Sylvia), Ericka Meunier (Paul Meunier), Charlene Sylvia (Jeffrey Sylvia) and Susan Thomas (Wayne Thomas). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Perry Funeral Home (111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA 02740).
