He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurinda Tavares and Antonio Tavares; his wife Christine Tavares; and his brother Joseph Tavares. He is survived by: his cousin Maria Gomes of Arlington; his children, Michael (Carolyn Tavares), Lisa (William Bartiet) and Jennifer (Shawn O'Brien); his grandchildren, David Tavares, Michael (Bridget Tavares), Kevin (Hailey Tavares), Steven Tavares, Brian (Haleigh Tavares), Kayla Bartiet, Julia Bartiet and Benjamin O'Brien; and his sisters-in-law, Joan Tavares and Regena Fitchett.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Antonio's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
