He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. and Gertrude; his brother Robert; his nephew Robert; and his brother-in-law Robert Casey.
He is survived by: his wife Gwen; his sons, John III of Dedham and James (Amy); his grandson Ben of Arlington; and his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Hampe and Eleanor Casey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers please honor John with a donation to the Davenport-Mugar Cancer Center at Cape Cod Hospital or the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
