He was predeceased by: his wife Mary T. (Donovan); his grandson Leonard James Abbisso, III; and his siblings, Mary Moon, Joseph Abbisso, Alexander Abbisso and Theresa Abbisso.

He is survived by: his children, Karen Keaney (Richard) of Dedham, Theresa Julien of Canton, Janet Conrad (Ron) of Orlando, FL, James Abbisso (Melinda Grosser) of Marblehead and Leonard Abbisso, Jr. (Joanne Toomey) of Dedham; his niece Carol Rose James; and his siblings-in-law, Helen Wythe, Margaret Cataldo, Patricia Lydon and Leo McGrath.
