He is survived by: his wife Nontiya "Kai" Shimkus; his children, Fawn Dolan of North Dighton, Stephanie Barter (Joseph) of Franklin and Stacey Shimkus of Dighton; his grandchildren, Dale and Jakob; his siblings, Peter, Carolyn, Joseph, Rita, Veronica, Paul and Christopher; his close friend Ralph; and his pet Cammie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
