“I knew Jay as a fellow graduate of Lawrence Academy. He was always a gracious and cheerful presence at the many alumni events we attended. In 2021 he received the Academy's highest award for alumni service, the Founder's Day Award. He was also a member of Lawrence's undefeated 1955 football squad that was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. I'll miss my friend. Richard Johnson, Class of 1974”
