John leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. John’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew John will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James D. and Rita C. (McNealy); and his brothers, James D. McCormack Jr., Steven C. McCormack and George McCormack.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy M. McCormack (Byrnes); and his nibling Kelly Spears (Brian) of Maryland. He is also survived by many loving in-laws, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the John J. O'Connor & Son Funeral Home (740 Adams St, Dorchester, MA 02122). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mark's Church (1725 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester Center, MA 02124).
