He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph McMurrough and Barbara McMurrough (O'Leary) of Hyde Park; his son Mark Coughlin; his grandson Mark Coughlin Jr. of East Boston; and his siblings, Maryanne Barry (John) of Milton, Francis McMurrough of Brockton and Elizabeth McMurrough of Hyde Park. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved friends.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and with much sadness, services will be private.
