McDermott of Douglas, Massachusetts, born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, who passed away on May 15, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Anthony McDermott; his siblings, Gerald McDermott, Thomas McDermott, Maureen Shields and Rita Marceau; and his parents, Austin McDermott and Yvonne McDermott (Nantelle).
He is survived by: his wife Elaine M. McDermott (Leclerc); his children, Maria Shearer of Natick and Robert McDermott of Natick; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael Shearer of Texas and Nicole Shearer of Natick; his stepchildren, Jeffrey Laporte of Texas, Eric Laporte (Erin) of Hampden, MA and Brianna Laporte of Douglas; his stepgrandchildren, Emily Laporte of Hampden, MA and Levi Laporte of Hampden, MA; his sisters, Kathleen Boudreau of Leominster and Judy Bergeron of Leominster; and his former wife Spyridoula "Kiki" McDermott of Natick. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
