He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bishop and Rose Bishop (Perron); his former wife Carol Bishop (Gunther); his son Edward J. Bishop Jr.; and his siblings, Robert, Charles, Norman, Raymond, Rita Kendall, Jeannette Babaletos, Anna Pierro and Elsie Sullivan.
He is survived by: his daughter Sheryl Monahan (Thomas) of Dracut, MA; his granddaughter Kaitlin Monahan of Brookline, MA; and his close friend Jeanne Carroll.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward's memory to the David James Hospice Unit, in care of: Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital, 200 Springs Road, Unit 2C.
