We announce the death of James W. Merlin of Duxbury, Massachusetts, who passed away on July 5, 2026. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. James will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. James’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Merlin and Patricia Merlin (O'Connell). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Reader-Merlin; his children, Emily Kadykowski (Ronald) and Sean Merlin; his granddaughter Rose Kadykowski; and his siblings, Donnie Merlin, Ann Merlin and Nancy Larocque (Richard). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
