He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Wheeler Sr. and Ruth Matthews Wheeler; his wife Lydia Dingwell Wheeler; his son-in-law William A. Burnham Jr.; his brother Thomas B. Wheeler; and his grandchildren, Alexander "Bowen" Pinkston and Bowen Pinkston (Lyla).
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Burnham of Rocky Nook, Louise Pinkston (Robert) of Klein, Texas., Shore Gregory (Celina) of Somerville, Massachusetts and Hadley Reintjes (Michael) of Prairie Village; his grandchild Cameron Roosevelt (Jack) of Swampscott; his children, Hoffman Pinkston and Wheeler Pinkston (Janie); his close friend Nancy Riegel of Duxbury; his sister-in-law Robin Wheeler; and his nieces, Lisa Soule (Garzie) and Wendy MacDonald (Lane). He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
