With solemn reverence, we commemorate Elena LaMonica of East Boston, Massachusetts, whose life came to an end on July 20, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving behind cherished memories. She was predeceased by: her husband Richard LaMonica; her parents, Antonio and Rose (Cardinale); and her siblings, Rose Woodside, Larry Chiodi, Pauline-Paolini-Anastasio, Andrew Chiodi, Frances Imbrescia, Antoinette Smith, Anthony Chiodi and Anne Magner.
She is survived by: her children, Rosemarie DeBenedictis (Arthur) of Melrose, Nancy Polizzi (Richard) of Stoneham and Joseph LaMonica of East Boston; her grandchildren, Craig Polizzi (Eileen), Brandon Polizzi, Alec, Darina and Stephen DeBenedictis; her great grandchild Luna Rose Polizzi; and her siblings, Catherine Spagnola and Salvatore Chiodi. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Magrath Funeral Home (336 Chelsea St, East Boston, MA 02128). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (45 Brooks St, Boston, MA 02128). A burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (175 Broadway, Malden, MA 02148).
