We are sad to announce that, on March 24, 2026, at the age of 85, Joan Louise Strangie of East Boston, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Joan departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Joan. Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Abruzese and Gertrude Abruzese; and her siblings, Gertrude Lovering and Claire Mottola. She is survived by: her son Gennaro Strangie; and her sisters, Ann DeFilippo, Carol Bottaro and Karen Scimone. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
