She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Hockenberry and Emma Hockenberry (Helzer); and her son-in-law Peter F. Alix. She is survived by: her daughters, Elizabeth Fazio (Daniel) of East Longmeadow and Jennifer Alix of Stafford Springs, CT; her grandchildren, Julianna Fazio (Sean White), Nina Fazio and James Alix; and her stepgranddaughters, Laura Alix (Benjamin Scaralia) and Diane Alix (Christopher Matechik).
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral and Cremation Center (220 N Main St, East Longmeadow, MA 01028). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First First Congregational Church (7 Somers Rd, East Longmeadow, MA 01028).
In lieu of flowers, her family encourages memorial contributions in Betsy's name be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children and Baystate Health Hospice Services, both of Springfield.
