James W. Carlin Obituary

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Carlin Jr. and Catherine Killeen Carlin; his cherisheds, Donal and Phyllis; his wife Polly Carlin (Cowles); his children, Catherine Smith of Longmeadow, Tracy Beeman (Chuck Rohrbach) of Wareham, Kelly McMahon (Michael) of West Springfield and James Carlin, Jr. (Molly) of Wilbraham; his grandson Jake Pauze of Longmeadow; his siblings, William Carlin III (Jackie) of Westfield, John Carlin (Joan) of Springfield, Timothy Carlin (Patti) of East Longmeadow and Mary Carlin Pabis (Bob) of Parrish, Florida.; his siblings-in-law, Mike Cowles (Chris) of Feeding Hills, Julie Cowles of Huntington and Jonathan Cowles; and the mother of his children Catherine Moore Carlin of West Springfield. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
He was awarded the Matthew Ryan, Jr. Award for Outstanding contributions to high school hockey in Western Mass. As Coach, Jim was inducted into the Springfield Public High Schools Sports Hall of Fame.
