He was predeceased by: his father Anthony P. Sweeney; and his stepfather Cornelius "Neil" Darcy. He is survived by: his mother Diane J. Sweeney-Darcy (Ryan) of Peabody; and his sisters, Denise Ciampa (Paul) and Toni Lyn Kucker (Steve). He is also survived by nephews, a niece and great nieces and nephews.
