He was predeceased by: his parents, Antone Cardelli and Eliza Cardelli (Ferioli); his brother John Cardelli; and his son Gerald Cardelli Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Cardelli (Velho); his son Mark J. Cardelli; his daughter-in-law Melissa Cardelli; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brandon Cardelli, Brent and Cory; and his great grandchildren, Sadie, Alexander and Lucius.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
