With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alfred Arruda (Fall River, Massachusetts), who passed away on April 10, 2020 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Yvette Arruda (Coulombe); his grandchild Kyle; his brother Daniel Arruda; and his parents, Antonio Arruda and Irene Arruda (Castro).

He is survived by: his children, Allan Arruda (Dawn), Michael Arruda (Dolores), Madeleine Durette (Marc) and Christine Arruda; his grandchildren, Jason, Mellanee, Heather, Tyler, Gennylee, Mehgan and Brittany; and his sisters, Genevieve Mello and Alice Branco. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, soon to be ten, and many nieces and nephews.

“Mr. Arruda was always a pleasant and happy guy who would always put a good spin on my day whenever I saw him. I'd see him often when he would take his evening walks (and would always set a rapid pace when he did this.) Other times I'd see him when I'd be going out on my own walks (to Talbot school to watch stars. And he never seemed bored when I would talk about nerdy subjects.. The world is a better place for having had him. We were lucky to have him. Godspeed Mr. Arruda. You were the best.”
