He was predeceased by: his parents, Mariano Ferreira Mascafel and Maria Diamantina Ferreira (Cabral). He is survived by: his spouse Zelia Ferreira (Machado); and his children, Escolastica Saraiva (Tomas), Maria, Esmeralda Botelho (Luis Alberto), Zelia, Anjos Azevedo (late Antonio) of Sousa, Minerva Silveira (Joe), Ana Isabel Abreu (Lou Couto) and Mike Ferreira (Kristin). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
