He is survived by: his parent Julia Tavares (Vievia); his son Terry Tavares (Maria Natalia) of Canada; his siblings, Maria Tavares (Joseph), Anelia Medeiros and Elia Tavares; his grandchildren, Tiffany Botelho-Tavares, Paula Botelho-Tavares and Michelle Botelho-Tavares; and also Maria Estrella Rebello Andrade. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
