He was predeceased by: his parents, Gil Couto and Serafina Couto (Marques); and his siblings, Jerimias Couto, Nicola Couto, Irene Aguiar and Venilde Couto.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Eugenia Couto (Correia); his children, Diane Perry and Kevin Couto (Brandi); his sister Luzia Lima; and his grandchildren, Tyler Perry, Fallon Perry, Noah Couto and Giuliana Couto. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
