He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Erin Mello (Golden); his parents, George Mello, Sr. and Cecelia Mello (Ayala); his children, Faith Mello and Alycia Mello (Nicole Ferreira); the mother of his child Marie Aguiar-Mello of Fall River; his sisters, Patricia Tourgee (William) of Berkley, Karen Souza of Fall River and Christine Russo of Fall River; and his sisters-in-law, Kathleen Golden-Bernier (Jeffrey Bernier) and Seana Golden.
