He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Cote (Cipollini) and Joseph A. Cote; and his daughter Tiffany Cote Machado. He is survived by: his wife Florence C. (Mardula); his children, Heidi Cote, Gerald M. Cote (Chikage Imai-Cote) and Austin G. Cote; his granddaughters, Anya Imai-Cote and Kaya Imai-Cote; his sister Maureen Pereira (late Raymond); his nephew Douglas Ferreira (Jack Barbosa); and his niece Wendy Hewitt. He is also survived by niece and nephew.

Gerald made significant contributions to his community through various business ventures and his vibrant personality.
