He was predeceased by: his wife Maria A. Dias (Sampaio); his father Francisco P. Dias; and his siblings, Francisco P. Dias, Manuel P. Dias, Maria Emilia Dias Soares, Conceicao P. Dias Machado, Luiz P. Dias, Jose Rafael Pereira and Antonio P. Dias.

He is survived by: his son Carlos E. Dias of Fall River. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
