John Cantwell Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Cantwell of Fall River, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 28, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Cantwell and Alice Cantwell (Meadowcroft); his wife Suzanne M. Cantwell (Kalil); his children, Michael J. Cantwell (Lisa) of Fall River, MA, Susan M. Darmody (Christopher) of Westport, MA. and Karen C. Benevides (Christopher) of Tiverton, RI.; his grandchildren, Lindsay, Matthew, Kathryn, Lauren, Meaghan and Allison; his great grandchildren, Madison, Cooper, Jacob, Olivia, Sophie, Luca and Zoey; and his sisters, Margaret Raymond (late Lester) of Somerset, MA and Ellen Stukus (late Walter) of Fall River, MA..

He is survived by: his in-laws, William R. Joncas (Lorraine) of Westport, MA and Timothy C. Doyle (Charlotte) of Fall River, MA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and long-time friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Hathaway Home For Funerals (1813 Robeson St, Fall River, MA 02720). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Name Church (709 Hanover St, Fall River, MA 02720). A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at the St. Patrick's Cemetery (2233 Robeson St, Fall River, MA 02720).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
