He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Natal Tavares and Maria Conceicao Tavares (Martins Doval); and his sister Maria Manuela Tavares. He is survived by: his wife Beatrice Tavares (Costa); his family, Sarah McEvoy (Robert) of Newport and Daniel J. Tavares of Fall River; his granddaughters, Leah McEvoy and Kate McEvoy; and his siblings, Manuela Simoes (Carlos) of Dighton, Antonio M. Tavares of Fall River, Natalia E. Lourenco (Paulo) of Fall River and Arthur M. Tavares (Ana) of Fall River. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
