He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Melo Mendonca and Maria M. Mendonca (DaSilva); his siblings, Jose Luis Mendonca, Maria Fatima Mendonca and Rosa D; and his nibling Fabio Soares.
He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Ferreira Mendonca (Merkt); his stepsons, Joseph Merkt and Richard Ferreira; and his sister Maria Da Gloria Soares. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
