He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Arruda, Sr. and Lucille Arruda (Rego); and his daughter Jodi Arruda. He is survived by: his spouse Claire; his daughters, Kim Ferreira (Craig), Sammi Hipolito (Ron), Kelly Messier (Mike) and Allison Arruda; his sister Maureen Force (Robert); and his grandchildren, Devin Ferreira, Mackenzie Ferreira and Amanda Hipolito. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
