He was predeceased by: his parents, Augustine Soares and Maria Soares (Carvalho); his stepson Mark Springer; and his siblings, Lynda Rebello, Helen Perry, Irene Lewis, Gertrude Beffulco, Manuel, John, Augustine and Abel Soares.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Soares (Gladue); his son Steven Soares (Julie) of North Carolina; his stepson Brian Springer (Sue) of Fall River; his sisters, Dorothy Philipe of Fall River and Anne Michael of Fall River; and his grandchildren, Mark Springer, Jr. of Fall River, Candice Springer of Fall River, Matthew Springer of Fall River, Kelsie Levesque of Fall River, Makenna Vieira of Fall River, Ryan Soares of North Carolina, Zachary Soares of North Carolina and Samuel Soares of North Carolina. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
