He was predeceased by: his parents, Mario Alves DaSilva and Anjos DaSilva (Oliveira); his son Pedro Silva; and his brother Joao Silva. He is survived by: his wife Maria Isabel DaSilva (Teodoro); his children, Carmen Brake, Isabel Marques and Mario Silva; his grandchildren, Brianna Marques, Nolan Marques, Ethan Brake, Warren Silva and Savanna Silva; and his siblings, Jose Luis DaSilva, Delores Mendes and Teresa Viveiros. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
