He was predeceased by: his parents, Rocco and Luigia Lucciola (Verrico); his siblings, Gaetano "Guy" Lucciola and Mattia Russo (Fernando Russo); and his former wife Geraldine Toomey Lucciola.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kara Lucciola and Denise Lucciola Mellon; his son-in-law Scott Mellon; his former wife Lorraine Lucciola (Terry Esposito); his siblings-in-law, Anna Lucciola (Polselli), Maureen Toomey-Carroll and James Carroll; his cousins, Leonora Casale and Pina Lucciola; and his caregiver Nancy Vezzina. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Waring-Sullivan Home (178 Winter St, Fall River, MA 02720). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 9:00 AM and at 10:00 AM. A burial will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at the St. Patrick's Cemetery (2233 Robeson St, Fall River, MA 02720).
In lieu of flowers, Mario's family kindly asks that donations in his memory be directed to the Fall River Sons and Daughters of Italy Charitable Fund, which supports local services in the South Coast area.
