Nero Farias Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nero Farias of Fall River, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 24, 2022 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Agostinho Farias and Marianna Farias (Pimental). He is survived by: his wife Grace Farias (Moniz); his son Nicholas Nero Farias; his children-in-law, Sarah Serio (Kimberly Sefrino) of Hoboken, N. J. and Marc of Assonet, MA.; his granddaughters, Brittney, Stephanie and Victoria Sefrino; and his siblings, George Farias and Marianna Luz. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Greater Fall River RE-CREATION, 45 Rock St., Fall River, MA 02720.

“My heartfelt condolences to Nero’s entire family. I met Nero at Fall River PAL basketball in the fall of 1966. I quickly became friend’s with Nero and served as the Treasurer of the Fall River Police Athletic League, Inc. for 15 years during my banking career. He was a role model and advocate for the children of Fall River. He will be sadly missed. Bill”

“I met MR. Farias when he was 38 and I was 14 I do not know were i would be today without his compassion, love and understanding for the youth of Fall River. I remember going to the PAL dance if he seen kids with out a parent picking them up, he would drive them home safely. thankyou for all you have done. you will be greatly missed and loved.
