He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Szargowicz and Irene Reis (Gauthier). He is survived by: his wife Helen (Piekielniak); his daughters, Lynne Szargowicz, Susan Murphy (Martin) and Cheryl Lewis (Frank); his grandchildren, Dziadziu, Robbie, Brandon, Caitlyn, Emma, Lauren and Connor; and his brother Peter Szargowicz (Terry).
