He was predeceased by: his wife Adelina "Ida" Malenfant (Oliveira); his siblings, Adrienne Roberts, Rita Miranda, Estelle Ramos, Agnes Costa, Florence Babey, Lina Thiboudeau, Mary Kay, Albert Malenfant and Omer Malenfant; and his parents, Cyprien "Sam" Malenfant and Josephine Malenfant (Tetreault).

He is survived by: his sons, Robert Malenfant and Steven Malenfant (Roxane); his grandchildren, Brian Malenfant (Stacy Fowler), Rebecca DeSa (Adam) and Jenna-Mae Arruda (Kyle); and his great grandchildren, Corbett, Parnell Malenfant, Luke DeSa and Paisley Mae Arruda. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Roland indeed was a blessing to everyone he met! Roland camped at my family's campground, Westport Camping Grounds, for many years. He became part, not only of our business family, but our personal family as well. He always had a smile on his face and some wise-crack to make you laugh. He will be greatly missed by many.
